Off to New York in two days and can't seem to motivate myself to pack. Weather here keeps going from 94º down to 74º, no wonder I've been fighting a cold. Not to mention my child gave it to me in the first place.

ok since no one answered my query on the "worm" I looked it up myself. I thought it meant a change was coming....soon; it does but it refers to the downtrodden rising against the established ways. Always here to educate and entertain!

I don't know if anyone is still tuned in, so maybe I'm talking to myself in cyberspace...a novel approach. The worm is turning (so what does that really mean?) with the college starting classes today the elhi can't be far behind which means more traffic on the roads, longer lines at Starbucks, and if I need to grocery shop I better do it around 7am. When is my next get away?
Back home for a short visit! Two weeks before I head off to the Big Apple again, I believe the flight attendants will know me by then. As expected husband didn't appreciate the 4am airline phone call update....oops typed in the wrong number.....I wonder if that was why he was late in picking us up?! A good time was had by all, now back to some reality.

After a late night yesterday I slept in until 10am, Adam didn't stir until about noon. We went to "chapel" at Toni and Isabelle's,(chapel is about friends, food, and booze in no particular order just all the above). After that we made our way over to nephew's/cousin's house and decided on pizza, only the pizza place was closed due to vacation...geeez. Went instead to Ibiza in Hamden, CT. Tapas were great and we stuffed ourselves silly and drank Sangria. Tomorrow we're back to San Francisco and Monday Adam starts fall semester. I guess summer is over at least for some.

Yesterday was relatively relaxing once I arrived back in Milford, but I must admit jet lag was tugging at me (I required an afternoon Starbucks). Hung out and posted on blog, read awhile, had sushi and soft serve for dinner. Today is all about lobster rolls and the Mets/Giants night game. Oh, yes, the reason for the excursion east was all about baseball. Fingers crossed, the Giants need to beat every team they see between now and the end of the season!
Well, we sat in traffic for a good two hours to get to CitiField. The weather was great, comfortable for an August night. As we were going to our seats the announcement came on the jumbotron that six years ago today (August 14, 2003) the Giants were also in town to play the Mets when the great blackout hit. It also just so happens that Adam and I were in NY to see the series in 2003 and were stuck in that blackout. The game did not go our way tonight, Zito lost, again! The new Mets home is wonderful though and a giant step up from Shea, we sat behind the Mets dugout in the first row so if you watched on TV you might have seen us.
Tomorrow we will beat them!

Made it to JFK in one piece. I'm feeling a little deja vu, wasn't I just here a few weeks ago! Picked up a rental car yesterday and headed to Rhode Island. Left son with Auntie, they were headed to a Yankees game. Found my way to friend's house with no problems, great directions Cathy. Quick college reunion, reminder that we need to reach out more often to keep in touch, no more 20 year gaps. Dinner of beer and lobster what more does anyone need in life! Said our goodbyes this morning and promised to email, facebook, etc.

Travel is looming on the horizon, Tuesday. A quick trip to the east coast to visit friends, family, and a little baseball.

I'm having blog withdrawal so I thought I'd write in. Who knows if anyone is reading? Since the trip all has gotten back to "normal". Planning tennis, spa, dinners, and shows for sister week. Cleaning house and exercising (swimming, elliptical, tennis, and Wii fitness). Not sure about this Wii fitness thing one day I'm 100 and the next I'm barely out of diapers. Ok, so I'm hearing some of you chuckling that at my age I'm probably on my way back to diapers anyway! Today is warm and sunny having everybody over for bar-b-que tonight. Tata.
